Diminish Cellulite Fast

Let’s face it cellulite is a nightmare and it is something we all want to get rid of regardless of our age or weight!

Cellulite refers to the dimpled appearance of skin, most often on thighs, hips and buttocks. The skin shows paleness in comparison to the rest of the body’s natural color because of the skin being stretched by the fat underneath. It is caused by uneven fat deposits just below the surface of the skin, which produce the dimpled, ‘cottage cheese’ or ‘orange peel’ effect.

Factors which cause Cellulite

LACK OF COLLAGEN

Collagen is the protein in our bodies essential for skin density and structure. The breakdown or lack of collagen is a major contributor to visible cellulite. In our mid twenties our bodies naturally stop producing collagen. This means our skin begins to lose its elasticity, firmness and smooth appearance which results in fine lines and wrinkles making the appearance of cellulite more noticeable.

LIFESTYLE HABITS

When it comes to smoking, studies have shown a higher rate of cellulite among smokers than non-smokers. This occurs because smoking contains a toxic mix of chemicals that limit the body’s ability to produce collagen and hyaluronic acid. In the skin, collagen is one of the main structural proteins. As we have already stated, collagen decreases as we age. If someone smokes, this process is speeded up. It begins to break down collagen and limit the production of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is required by the cells to retain moisture, a lack of it can cause the skin to look dehydrated. Over time, this will also make the skin less elastic.

DIET

Yo-yo dieting in particular can also contribute to cellulite. Losing weight too quickly for the body to adjust to the new weight change, can cause the skin to relax making cellulite more noticeable. The ongoing gain and loss of weight will make skin less elastic and therefore increase the appearance of cellulite.

How to get rid of Cellulite

Collagen is an important protein used to make the connective tissue in your skin, tendons, ligaments, and blood vessels. Structural changes in the skin’s tissues, including weakened collagen and elastin fibers, make cellulite more apparent because the skin becomes thinner and less able to conceal the irregularities below the surface. These changes can occur from hormonal imbalances, ageing and even dehydration.

As the lack and breakdown of collagen is a major cause into why cellulite appears, taking a daily (natural) collagen supplement such as Vida Glow will help to strengthen the collagen fibers under the skin. This will assist in smoothing out the skin and diminishing the appearance of cellulite. Vida Glow promotes your body to rebuild and repair the fibres that cause cellulite to appear.

Vida Glow marine collagen stimulates the production of the protein molecules from which collagen is formed. It’s also helpful in tightening loose skin after weight loss, decreasing the inflammatory response, and promoting tissue healing. We recommend 2 sachets daily, to improve skin texture, and you’ll also get the added benefit of nail and hair growth.

EXERCISE

Exercise is especially useful for fighting cellulite as it minimizes body fat, improves circulation and tones muscle in areas that are particularly prone to cellulite, such as thighs, buttocks and abdomen. It is thought that increased circulation helps to keep skin and connective tissue healthy and elastic.

HERBAL TEA and WATER

Hydration is immensely important for the removal of toxins and keeping the skin healthy.  Make sure you drink the recommended 2 litres of pure water daily. Nettle, Dandelion, Peppermint & Chamomile teas are good to include, and be sure to add a sachet of Vida Glow!

By keeping your body hydrated it will keep your skin cells looking fulfilled and revitalized, which will lessen the look of cellulite.

DYNAMIC YOGA

Dynamic Yoga (Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow) is cellulite busting! It is renowned for its mental, emotional and spiritual benefits, however it literally firms, tones and sculpts every muscle in the body! Working directly on improving the cardiovascular and blood circulatory systems by using synchronization of deep forceful breaths with many forward bending, strength enhancing postures that aid digestion and toxin removal.

LIFESTYLE and EATING HABITS

Cutting out sugar and refined carbohydrates is important. Additionally by restoring any deficiencies and getting organs working optimally means you will not only see huge improvements physically in the body but also in energy and mental emotional wellbeing.

DRY SKIN BRUSHING

This is a hugely effective way to stimulate the lymphatic system and remove the acidic top layer of the skin through exfoliation. On dry skin using one drop of a stimulating (pure) essential oil in the palm of your hand (Rosemary, Cypress, Lavender or Eucalyptus), brush over the hand with a natural bristle brush then with long sweeping strokes work from the feet, up the legs, front and back torso, up the arms and down the neck, chest and upper back (always towards the heart).
